Case 580 Super L Seal kits OEM vs aftermarket

I just snagged a '99 Case 580 Super L from a contractor's sale, too good a deal to pass up! It's a project, for sure: 4WD, powershift, with a 4-in-1 bucket and extendahoe (serial in the JJG range).

Right off the bat, the boom cylinder seal is leaking like crazy. I'm wondering if I should go with Case's seals or try an aftermarket kit (saw some Indian ones on eBay). I won't be using it super heavily.

Has anyone used non-OEM seals on these older Cases with good or bad results? Any advice is appreciated before I get started.

I've used aftermarket seals on a 580L, some held up fine, others leaked quick, if you're not working it hard, cheaper kits can work, nut you should inspect cylinder walls first

I'd stay away from those super cheap seal kits on eBay, especially for a main boom cylinder. The material quality on seals is critical, and a cheap one will often start leaking again in a few months, and you'll be doing the job all over again.
you know, it's not worth the headache. Go with the OEM seals or a quality aftermarket kit from a reputable supplier like Hercules Seals or Hydraulic Supply Company. You'll pay a bit more, but it's a one-and-done job
